About fruits basket question..?

If there's no year of the cat, how come that Kyo Sohma was born on that year? and if Kyo and Yuki has the same age, how Come they don't have the same zodiac???*I'm just curious

Kyo and Yuki same age, maybe the story want them go to same class.
Reply:Its because each of cursed zodiac members are different animals. It doesn't go by the years that they were born, you will notice that the Mabudachi Trio are the same age also. The curse happens to another member of the faimly once the previous cursed member dies, which is why unless one of them die you won't see a new family member cursed. Natsuki explained this in a sidebar or the back of one of the first few volumes, but I can't find it this morning.

Reply:Theres no year of the cat because of how the rat tricked the cat, but the Sohma family has a cat because it's part of the story. Alot of peole in Fruits Basket are the same age, but are different zodiac, cuz their zodiac sign doesn't actually go with when they were born. Like, even if they were born on a certain month/year, it wouldn't matter, cuz the zodiac people are just born with whatever animal isn't represented yet. yeah....i think thats it.
