Ok, so the holidays are coming up and I need some gift ideas?

I wanted to do something inexpensive, like mail out tins of fudge or fruit baskets (homemade). Any ideas would be great. We really don't want to spend much this year as last year we went totally overboard (we spent almost $2,000!). So this year we decided to send a food basket of some kind to save a little. Thanks...

You could get little boxes of chocolate at Malley's that are relatively inexpensive, or even buy a bunch of the chocolate and put it together yourself in little bags and add some other treats or a candle, some soap, bath salts, little ornaments for christmas...etc. in with it. Target always has really good deals on stocking stuffers (dollar section) that added with some fudge or fruit would make very cute homemade baskets! I know that my mom always loves the homemade baskets she gets because they're more personal and you know that the people giving them picked each thing out for you. Remember it's the thought that counts, so I'm sure whatever you decide on will be well received! Enjoy your holidays!

Reply:what me and my cousin done once was...we made baskets similar to what you are talking about...we made cookies and decorated them, fudge, buckeye balls, you can mix them up maybe like 7 or 8 of each thing that you make, you can buy some saran wrap and wrap them individually and that is neat also, put some pretty paper around them and a nice box and you are all set, dont forget a pretty bow and maybe even a christmas card inside the box, who couldnt love a gift from the heart? HUH?
Reply:if you're willing to put in the work, a cookie assortment may be a fun idea. you can put them in an airtight bag and then in a pretty tin with a ribbon on it. it will be a yummy gift and the recipients will appreciate the work that you put into it!
Reply:Last year i baked bread loaves, candies, cookies u name it and packaged it all up. everyone LOVED what i sent- better then a 'gift' gift.

it can get a lil costly but NOTHING like xmas gifts. or have it to go with a small gift.

find out what kind of sweets they enjoy:)
Reply:gioft cards are the best bet. figure out what stores the person likes , or a mall nearby them and get them a gift card for it. This no feelings are hurt when they find that the got fudge for the holidays...no hard feelings :P
Reply:I like to get those little cones of hot cocoa mix.

Really inexpensive to make:

A cone shaped clear baggie

Cocoa Mix

Small Marshmallows

A ribbon to seal it tight

Perfect treat to heat up on Christmas Eve. You can even put a little tag on the ribbon and do different flavors of cocoa!
Reply:Make Christmas ornaments. They are very cheap and easy to do.
