Is Fruits Basket REALLY a funny anime?

I have watched the first 2 episodes and it seemed a bit crappy.... I am looking for something hillarious with a bit of romance. Should I watch it?

I love the manga Fruits Basket, but I didn't like the anime; it wasn't as good as people said it was (I stuck with the manga, never finished the anime).





If you're interested in something funny and random (aliens, espers, and time-travelers) then you might want to watch the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. It's a really funny show with a slight bit of romance.





But hey, that's just my opinion. Good luck with your anime hunting (ish).

Reply:Read the manga. It's amazing!! Fruits Basket does have a lot of dramtic scenes, though. But overall the first six are very funny.

Its funny and a really cute anime. So is the manga. Fruits basket teaches you alot about life. it is so good. it's funny and helps you emotionally. But i recomend you watch the anime and then read the manga. the anime is cut of and the manga is complete. the manga has the most beautiful ending. i suggest you watch/read. it really is one of the best funiiest series ever!

also you should watch Scrapped Princess they are the BEST OF ALL. Funny emotoinal.
Reply:I preferred the Fruits Basket manga to the anime as it ended prematurely and never finished the story. That said, there are some cute, funny moments in Fruits Basket, but I wouldnt consider it a comedy.





For a comedy with some romance and fighting, I would recommend Full Metal Panic.
