um how many are there, i think its 22, but im not sure...





ok i watched the anime, but since i heard it only covers upto chapter 8, should i buy the manga starting from number 3 ( i read the first two at my library ^^) or from 8 and up.





its my favorite anime/manga, it just touches me.

Fruits Basket is complete with 23 volumes [136 chapters] but it's not completely released in English from TokyoPop. There are currently 17 volumes released in English from Tokyopop at the moment, volume 18 will come out on November 13th.





Wikipedia says the anime ends with volume 8. If the other previous volumes are avaliable at your library, I would recommend reading from volume 3 onwards since you already read the first two. There's not that much of a major difference, but the last few episodes of the anime's events was a bit different from what happened in the manga. Otherwise it's pretty much the same.

There are 23 complete volumes, but only 17 so far in the US.


18 is going to be released next month :D





The anime ending is from volume 6, but sequences before that are also in volumes 7 and 8.





I always recommend reading anything from the first volume. They don't leave out anything crucial in the anime, but its alwalys better to read the smaller things in the books.





So yeah, start buying from 3. It gets WAY better after 8 btw.

I don't get why they stopped after season one, its their loss I suppose.
